Sitting at my writing desk, I see from my window, the beautiful blue, clear sky , not a single cloud but the bright shinning sun and I can’t stop to wonder, how and why am I the one blessed to see a new day?.
I will never know why or how but what I know is that I am full of gratefulness, I am so grateful for so many things that if I ever managed to name all, I will never have enough time or space for it, so I decided to write this poem that names few.
My attitude is Gratitude
I am grateful to God
for each breath in my lungs,
the source of life,
I am grateful to God for all my children,
for their wonderful lives,
with their ups and downs,
each finding their ways
to become who they need to be.
I am grateful for my health,
for every working organ in my body,
that makes me feel life.
I am grateful for my eyes,
so I can see beauty all around me,
The sun, the sky, the starts,
the flowers, the rivers, the mountains,
the smile of a child,
the tear of a sad heart.
Love all around that lets me see life.
I am grateful for my ears,
that let me hear the sounds,
the sound of the cars, the motorbikes,
the wind, the birds,
the melody of a song,
the beating of my heart that lets me hear life.
I am grateful for my hands,
that can make things,
with these small, beautiful hands,
that have the most perfect ten fingers,
I can cook, write, paint but mostly caress the faces of my children
and those I love and need comfort,
with theses hands I can wipe tears,
and I can make them a cup of tea.
creating cherish-able moments.
I am grateful for the artist in me,
that is just beginning to take,
small steps into a wonderful world.
I am grateful to God,
for all the gifts in my life.
